IPX8 grade waterproofing (1.5m depth for 30 minutes) 

The IC-M505 withstands submersion in up to 1.5m depth of water for 30 minutes. It is equivalent to the IPX8 standard. All products are rigorously checked to pass the quality test at the factory. You can install the unit into the most convenient place, without worrying about water splash.

Large LCD with dot-matrix characters 

The large full dot-matrix display is designed for optimum readability in any lighting condition. With the extra large font, the channel number is maximized on the display, and GPS data, DSC emergency data, and other information can be easily read. The large buttons and knobs provide user friendly operation. 

ITU Class D DSC 

The IC-M505 has built-in Class D DSC, which enables you to constantly monitor channel 70. This functionality provides users at sea with the peace of mind that they can call for help by pressing the “Distress” button if the need arises. 

Position Request and Position Report 

Over and above the DSC, your own and other ships’ position data can be exchanged with the position request or position report functions. The received position information can be transferred to external navigation equipment*. In addition, the polling (request/reply) function checks whether a specific ship is within the communications range.
* External GPS receiver and navigation equipment which accepts NMEA 0183 format is required. 

Superior receiver performance 

The IC-M505 has excellent receive specifications of 73dB for intermodulation rejection and adjacent channel selectivity, and –5dBμV (typical) high sensitivity. The IC-M505’s superior receiver provides excellent resistance to intermodulation and allows you to catch a weak signal between strong stations. 

Powerful audio output 

The extra large speaker is mounted into a wellspaced housing, producing greater sound than the specified 2W output power. You can get clear and loud reception without requiring repetition of the message, even over the engine or other background noise. 

25W hailer/RX speaker and auto foghorn 

When connected to a hailer horn or external speaker on the deck or tower, you can make an announcement on-board from the microphone. The RX speaker function, “receiver-repeater”, allows you to monitor the received audio from the hailer horn or speaker. Four foghorn patterns are also available for the automatic foghorn. 

GPS information indication 

When connecting to an external GPS receiver, the GPS information indication function shows course and speed data as well as position, date and time on the display.

DO NOT connect the HM-134B to the IC-M505 as this may damage the transceiver. HM-134B COMMANDMIC™ is NOT compatible with the IC-M505.

Het MMSI nummer en de ATIS-code kan eenmalig geprogrammeerd worden.

ATIS:

Eerst dient de ATIS-code omgezet te worden naar 10 cijfers, dit werkt als volgt:

- Voor België: O = 9205 / S = 19 of T = 20 gevolgd door vier cijfers.
- Voor Nederland: P = 9244 / C = 03 D = 04 enz. gevolgd door vier cijfers.

D.M.V. de knop [H/L] ingedrukt te houden en vervolgens [DAIL] in te drukken zal de marifoon van het INT-pakket naar het ATIS-pakket gaan. (in het display staat nu ook ATIS)

1. Zorg ervoor dat de marifoon in het ATIS-pakket staat en zet daarna de marifoon uit  

2. Houdt [MENU] ingedrukt en zet de marifoon weer aan.

3. Zodra het display opkomt, laat dan de [MENU]knop weer los.

4. Druk wederom op [MENU] om het ATIS-menu in te gaan

5. Draai aan de kanaalschakelaar en selecteer SET UP en druk daarna op de kanaalschakelaar

6. Draai vervolgens aan de kanaalschakelaar en selecteer ATIS CHECK en druk op daarna weer op de kanaalschakelaar 

7. Draai vervolgens aan de kanaalschakelaar om het ATIS-nummer te programmeren
    - [16.C] of [DAIL] om de cursor naar voren of naar achteren te bewegen
    - [CLR] om terug te gaan naar het SET UP menu.

8. Nadat alle cijfers zijn ingevoerd  bevestigen door de kanaalschakelaar in te drukken

9. Druk vervolgens op 2 x [CLR] om het menu te verlaten

Via het ATIS-menu kunt u nu uw ATIS-nummer controleren.
